Record numbers attend University Open Day
The open days, held on 24-25 June, saw over 11,500 prospective students and their families from around the country visit the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é campus.
The number of those who attended is up by 23% this year with an overall total of 11,610 compared to 9,461 in June 2015.
Open days are held twice a year in June and September, offering students the opportunity to visit the campus and get a feel for the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é experience.
Those who attend are able to access detailed course information, get advice on accommodation options and student finances, go on campus tours and talk direct to University staff and current students.
This year, a new open day app was launched to coincide with the event. The app provided key information for visitors including an online map, schedule builder and important news and events going on throughout the day. The app received 1,691 downloads from smartphones over the two days.
Events Manager, Nina Taggart, comments: “It was a fantastic few days and we are incredibly pleased with the number of guests that visited us. It was great to see so many staff, students and guests enjoying the open days, the campus was buzzing with activity and we even saw some sunshine!”
