Former swimming supremo Adrian Moorhouse leads honorary graduate line up
Adrian Moorhouse – who dominated British swimming in the late eighties, returning home from the 1988 Seoul Olympics with Gold in the 100m breaststroke – is one of seven distinguished people who will receive honorary degrees from Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é this week.
Moorhouse – who is now a BBC sports commentator and chief executive of performance management company Lane4 – will be presented with the award of Honorary Doctor of the University in recognition of his outstanding sporting and business success and his links with and support for various Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é activities.
Professor Shirley Pearce, former Vice Chancellor of Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é, will also receive the award of Honorary Doctor of the University for her outstanding leadership and exceptional contribution to the development and success of Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é.
The degrees will be presented as follows:

Honorary Doctor of Technology, in recognition of his exemplary career and leadership in engineering and the automotive industry.
