Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é graduate entrepreneur, Becky White, opens her first personal training studio today. Becky launched during her Sport Management degree, with support from the University’s Enterprise Office. Today’s studio launch marks another exciting step for Becky, who ultimately aims to branch out nationwide.

Becky has had much to celebrate during the last year. In April, Becky’s world record to organise the most people bouncing simultaneously on trampolines – which took place on campus during the Olympic Torch Relay – was made official. Her business success has also been recognised in the University’s and in the Pride of Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é Awards, where she won .

Becky has grown a loyal client base by offering personal training, beginner and intermediate running sessions and trampoline classes. She also has two mini-trampoline work out DVDs, offers online personal training and regularly posts fitness topics on . The company has also grown, to keep pace with demand, with personal trainers specialising in running, strength and conditioning and nutrition and an office manager joining Becky earlier this summer.

Becky is also one of eight Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é graduates to feature in a multimedia campaign, celebrating graduate enterprise. These have all established thriving businesses despite the continued economic downturn.

The onesixeight: fitness private personal training studio opens in Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é Students Union Building on Thursday 1 August. To mark the celebrations Becky is giving away hundreds of free fitness and weight loss training sessions, as well as free personal training sessions to anyone who registers .

Becky says: “It was always my dream to study at Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é because so many great athletes train here and I wanted to be surrounded by inspiring sports people. My degree has been really useful in helping me set up my company and I’m really thrilled to be opening my first personal training studio here on campus, where my business dreams began!”

Professor Steve Rothberg, Pro Vice Chancellor for Enterprise at Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é says: “We are very proud of all our graduate entrepreneurs. Becky is an excellent ambassador for graduate enterprise and I am delighted that her dedication is being rewarded with business success.”
