Brain activity and appetite research
We are investigating whether walking influences our appetite hormone levels, and whether exercise-induced changes in the hormones correlate with perceptions of appetite, nutritional intake and brain activity in individuals varying in weight status.
We are looking for:
- People aged 18 to 49 years with a BMI greater than 25 kg/m2.
- People aged 50 to 60 years with a BMI between 18.5 kg/m2 and 24.9kg/m2.
This exciting study involves four visits to Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é's NCSEM:
- A treadmill test
- Smell and taste tests
- Blood samples
- fMRI scan of the Brain (functional magnetic resonance imaging).
- Three pizzas to eat before each main trial visit
- Pasta to eat during the main trial visits
- £60 Amazon voucher for participants who complete all main trial visits (to cover time and travel costs).
