Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é Launches New Centre for Transport AI Innovation

AI transport

We are proud to announce the establishment of the Transport AI Innovation Centre (TRAICE), a new pan-university Centre of Excellence. TRAICE aims to become a leader in advancing smart, safe, efficient, equitable, and sustainable transportation systems.

TRAICE, a Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é led AI transport project intent on helping the UK reach its net-zero targets, has been shortlisted for a national award!

Harnessing Expertise across Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é

The Centre brings together a critical mass of transport specialists from across Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é's diverse Schools. This includes experts in transport and vehicle technologies, infrastructure engineering, design and human factors, economics, and social and environmental sciences. This interdisciplinary approach will leverage cutting-edge data and AI technologies to deliver comprehensive research and innovative solutions.

Impactful Research and Collaboration

TRAICE will be a hub for collaboration, influencing and shaping transport policies, while driving cutting-edge research with real-world impact. The Centre is led by Professor Haitao He, who acknowledges the vital contributions of Dr. Marcus Enoch, the Centre Lead for the School of ABCE and Director of Industry for TRAICE.

Our own Professor He says, "I am thrilled to see the launch of the Transport AI Innovation Centre (TRAICE) at Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é. This initiative represents a significant step forward in our commitment to becoming a national leader in transport research and innovation, leveraging Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é's diverse, multidisciplinary expertise to work together across boundaries and co-create with communities and partners to address complex challenges in transport and AI. I look forward to the ground-breaking research and interdisciplinary collaborations that TRAICE will foster, driving innovation and shaping the future of transport policies and practices."

Open to All with a Passion for Transport

While TRAICE has a strong foundation in Transport and Urban Planning, it extends far beyond. Mathematicians, infrastructure engineers, civil engineers, and anyone with an interest in the future of transportation are encouraged to get involved. Join us at the launch event to learn more!
